Elected to the Board of Trustees in November 2007, Mr. Tang holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Texas, Arlington. He is a certified public accountant through the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy.
Mr. Tang and his wife of 26 years, Christie, have three children: two in college after having graduated from Spring High School and an eighth grader at Twin Creeks Middle School. Both he and his wife have been actively involved in Spring ISD, serving on the Spring High Women’s Soccer Booster Club, Winship PTO, Twin Creeks PTO and Choir Board, and various advisory committees for the District such as the 2007 Bond Advisory Committee and Safe and Drug Free Communities Committee. In particular, Mr. Tang served as the treasurer of the political action committee (PAC) that was instrumental in the passing of the 2007 bond referendum.
He and his family have been residents of Spring since 2000, during which time Mr. Tang coached soccer for the YMCA, Klein Soccer Club, and Spring Soccer Club. He has also been a Sunday School teacher for the Youth Ministry at the Spring Baptist Church for many years, in addition to his involvement in other community service projects such as the End Hunger project.
