Spring ISD is working toward achieving the district’s vision of being recognized nationally as a leader among learning organizations and known for exemplary student achievement by the year 2015. In order to achieve that vision, the district is an advocate for professional learning to align with the Schlechty Center philosophy that promotes the creation of a learning organization, rather than a teaching organization. Every classroom goal is for teachers to design meaningful, engaging and challenging work for students. The district believes that students should be volunteers who are committed to learning. Teachers are encouraged to use the "Working on the Work" approach to analyze student work from the Schlechty Center to guide lesson design. PEAK Learning and Kagan provide support for classroom teachers.
