HOUSTON - Feb. 7, 2013 - Dr. Veronica Vijil, principal at Bailey Middle School in Spring ISD, was selected by the Texas Council of Professors of Educational Administration to receive the TCPEA 2012 Outstanding Dissertation Award. Vijil was recognized at the TCPEA meeting in January, where she presented her dissertation titled “Barriers and Supports to Pursuing STEM-related Careers: Perceptions of High School Hispanic Girls.” STEM is an acronym for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.
