HOUSTON - July 25, 2012 - When school starts in August, motorists will see radar speed trailers located in random school zones as they travel throughout the district. The Spring ISD Police Department has purchased four trailers to use for raising awareness of posted school-zone speed limits and enhancing the safety of students who walk to and from school.
“The data collected by the radar speed trailers will help the police department be more efficient and effective at enforcing posted school zones,” said Victor Mitchell, Spring ISD chief of police.
In addition, motorists may need to be reminded that cell phone use is prohibited in school zones. Help keep our kids safe by slowing down and paying close attention while traveling through school zones.
