- Regarding Publicity and Special Events; does this apply to the digital board located in front of a campus, or is that handled locally by campus administration? Campus administrators determine what information is publicized on the digital signs as well as the marquees.
- Can we raffle gift certificates? Yes. Gift certificates may be raffled. Raffle prizes cannot be monetary (cash amount).
- If we send a reminder flyer using a flyer that was already approved, does that reminder need to be approved again? Yes. The reminder flyer also needs to be approved.
- Should the principal and teacher liaison be voting parties on a PTO decision? The principal and teacher liaison may be voting parties on a PTO decision if this is stated in the bylaws.
- Is there a term limit for Teacher Liaisons and PTO-Booster Officers? The teacher liaisons and officers may serve indefinitely unless otherwise stated in the bylaws.
- Can we have introduction of other PTOs? Yes! Interaction with other PTOs is encouraged. Time will be set aside on the agenda of the next Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) meeting for introductions and collaboration.
- How will the fundraiser approvals be communicated back to the submitter? Once approved, the fundraiser approval form shall be returned by the Assistant Superintendent for Administration to the principal or designee before the fundraising activity may begin.
- What is the Fundraiser approval turnaround time? Requests for fundraiser approvals should be submitted to the principal as close to the beginning of the school year as possible. Please submit request at least two weeks in advance.
- Is it too late to try to start a Basketball Booster Club for 2012-2013 if the season starts in November? If it is too late, can we raise funds with a fundraiser and pay taxes? No. It is not too late to begin but please be advised that all necessary paperwork will need to be completed and submitted as soon as possible. Also, assuming that the organization is NOT a 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization, fundraisers may be conducted but it must be clear that the organization conducting the fundraiser is NOT a 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization and the fundraiser may not be conducted in the name of a PTO or Booster Club. For example, the name "Parents of Basketball Players" could be used.
- Is there a list of approved volunteers who have passed background checks? In an effort to maintain privacy, there is not a public list of approved volunteers.
- If we sell merchandise at a football or athletic event game, should we submit a fundraiser request form? Yes. Only one forms needs to be submitted for the entire season/schedule. This does not count as one of the fundraisers that each sport on campus is allowed per season. For example, this would not be a football fundraiser; it would be a booster club fundraiser.
- Are we required to submit a fundraiser request form for membership dues? No. Membership dues are not considered a fundraiser.
- If we fall under a General Booster (for example an Athletic Booster at a campus) should the individual sport submit the documents requested on the checklist to the district or to the General Athletic Booster? All documents should be submitted to the district's Community Relations Office. It would be helpful to provide a copy to the General Booster Club as well as to the Campus Principal.
- Can we have a copy of the video emailed? We are unable to email a copy of the video.
