The Gale Group offers reference and resource databases, magazine databases, and a student resource center.

Opposing Viewpoints Resource Center draws on the acclaimed social issues series published by Greenhaven Press, as well as core reference content from other Gale and Macmillan Reference USA sources to provide a complete one-stop source for information on social issues. Access viewpoint articles, topic overviews, statistics, primary documents, links to websites, and full-text magazine and newspaper articles.

Biography Resource Center combines award-winning biographies from respected Gale Group sources. It also includes full-text articles from hundreds of periodicals. Search for people based on one or more personal facts such as birth and death year, nationality, ethnicity, occupation or gender, or combine criteria to create a highly-targeted custom search.

GROLIER ONLINE gives access to three products:  Encyclopedia Americana, Lands and Peoples (countries, cultures, and current events), and La Nueva Enciclopedia Cumbre (complete encyclopedia for Spanish speakers and Spanish language students).

TEACHINGBOOKS.net is a multimedia website that generates enthusiasm for books and reading by providing original, up-close profiles of authors and illustrators, audio excerpts of book readings, guides to thousands of titles and a wealth of resources on children’s and young adult literature.

These electronic databases allow Westfield students and staff to access valuable research resources from library, classroom, computer lab, and home.  WHS patrons should obtain passwords from the library in order to gain remote access.
