Hirsch Hawks Family!

I am excited to serve as the newly appointed principal of Hirsch Elementary School.  While this may be my first year as the principal, it isn’t my first year as a Hirsch Hawk.  I was once a student here, and it is an extreme privilege and honor to return and serve the community I grew up in.

This will be my 17th year in public education and my 15th year in Spring ISD.  Prior to Hirsch, I taught high school math, 5th grade math and science, elementary art, and served as an assistant principal at Anderson Elementary.

While away from school, I find joy in spending time with my husband and high school sweetheart, Joseph Patterson, and our three children, Joey, Jada and Jasmyn---oh, and our dog, Charlie.

At Hirsch Elementary, we are committed to growing future leaders who are life-long learners, critical thinkers and responsible global citizens.  I believe that education has the transformative power to not only uplift students, but also families and communities.  When we work together the possibilities of what our children can become and accomplish become endless.

Our theme for the year, Learning to Fly, comes from the book The Year We Learned to Fly by Jacqueline Woodson.  This story is a powerful testament to the power of your mind to uplift you and to give you the strength to persevere.  I’m excited to see our hawks take to the sky and soar in 2022-2023.

Hello Hirsch Hawks! It is with great enthusiasm and excitement that I begin my fourth year as an Assistant Principal and first year with the Hirsch Hawks family. With 12 years of experience in education, I firmly believe in a strong home-to-school connection. By building and maintaining a partnership with students, parents, teachers, and community members, we can make sure every child’s academic, social, and emotional needs are met.

Prior to coming to Hirsch, I was the assistant principal at Cooper Elementary School. I have also taught at Clark Primary and Beneke. In addition, I served as a Literacy Coach at Thompson Elementary before working at the central office as a Curriculum Specialist.

My time away from work is spent enjoying my husband, nephew Maddox, family, and friends. I am looking forward to an amazing school year where all students and staff will experience success. Let’s make this a great school year and win as a team!
