My name is LaToya Patterson, and I am proud to serve as the new principal of Hirsch Elementary. I was once a Hirsch Hawk and sat in the very same classrooms as your child. It is an extreme honor and privilege to return to the school and community I once called home.
The last couple of years were difficult on us all as we navigated new terrain with the Covid-19 pandemic. Our students found a way to persevere through challenges we could have never imagined, and I am proud of the hard work and accomplishments of the students, teachers and staff of Hirsch Elementary over the last school year. I truly believe in the transformative power of education to uplift both our families and community, and look forward to partnering with you this upcoming school year.
Our theme for the year, Learning to Fly, comes from the book The Year We Learned to Fly by Jacqueline Woodson. This story is a powerful testament to the power of your mind to uplift you and to give you the strength to persevere. I’m excited to see our hawks take to the sky and soar in 2022-2023.
The time has come to begin planning your child's Middle School course request. I'm pretty sure your kiddo's are pretty excited to pick their classes as well. Today they had a chance to meet with their Twin Creeks counselor and discuss all the courses, electives, and what to expect in Middle School. Please take the time to ask them what they learned. On Tuesday, January 17th she will host a Google Meeting online so that you too can hear what to expect and ask any needed questions. The link to the Google Meet is attached as well as the google form to make your child's course selection. Please be sure to complete your child's course selection no later than Friday 1/27.
We are excited to have Koala Kare at Hirsch! Koala Kare is a daycare provider that will be offering before and after school child care to Hirsch families right here at Hirsch Elementary. Click the headline for more information!
