Welcome to the 2017-2018 school year! I am elated to serve you, the students, parents and the community of Joan Link Elementary as Principal! I am very passionate about educating kids, and I strongly believe that every student can learn. I am an avid student advocate, and will always make decisions in the best interest of our students. I am also an advocate of ensuring that neighborhood schools are competitive and worthwhile options for families within the surrounding community.
You will find your child(ren) are introduced to a new level of rigor this year regarding classroom work and homework. Our teachers are specialized in their subjects and have partnered with each other to implement many of the instructional strategies they learned over the summer to help propel our scholars’ academic growth and development.
Please know Link Elementary is here to serve you and our wonderful community. Additionally, we will offer numerous exciting and innovative programs and activities for our students, parents, and families. We will keep you informed of all upcoming events and activities through letters home with students, your child’s communication folder, phone calls home, and our website.
We also recommend you keep up with us on Twitter: @LES_Spring
Again, thank you for giving us the pleasure of educating your child(ren). We have planned for a GREAT year and look forward to an active partnership between school, home, and community. We truly believe Parents are Partners!

Link Elementary, built in 1982, was named for Joan Link, one-time secretary to the Spring ISD Superintendent and the Board of Trustees, and active volunteer in PTA and booster clubs.
In 1964, Mrs. Link took the position as full-time secretary in the superintendent’s office, which at the time handled all district administration functions.
Later, when the duties were divided due to the District’s growth, Mrs. Link became the first secretary to the board of trustees. She retired in 1982, having served for 20 years.
