    Dates/Days:
    June 4 - 27, 2019 (Monday - Thursday)

    ELL Prekindergarten-Kindergarten Times:
    8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

    First Grade-Fifth Grade Times:
    Time: 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
    Lunch: 12 to 12:30 p.m.

    Dates:
    Cycle 1 - June 10 - 27, 2019
    Cycle 2 - July 8 - 25, 2019

    Days:
    Monday - Thursday

    General Summer School Locations

    Summer school will be held at campuses throughout the district. Host campuses will support students from the schools listed below.

    The summer school program is free for selected students in grades Prekindergarten - 5th who are enrolled in a Spring ISD school as of the last day of the 2018-19 school year and who meet summer school program requirements, as outlined below.

    Program Overview / Requirements
    3rd-4th Grade STAAR Reading, Writing and Math intervention for student’s requirements that failed to meet standardized assessment standards as measured by the State of Texas Assessment of Academic Readiness.
    5th Grade SSI Reading and Math intervention for students that are required to take a third administration of the State of Texas Assessment of Academic Readiness (STAAR).
    Promotion/Retention Students in grades 1st – 5th failing to meet grade-level standards.
    English Language Learners Current Prekindergarten and Kindergarten Bilingual and ESL students.
    Extended School Year (ESY) Services Extended School Year (ESY) services are defined as individualized, instructional programs beyond the regular school year for students with disabilities. The need for ESY services must be determined on an individual basis from the data taken by the student’s teachers and addressed in a student’s Admission, Review and Dismissal (ARD) meeting.
    Journey into Reading The goal of our Summer Reading Program is to strengthen literacy skills all summer long while broadening student horizons as they learn about different destinations and cultures through reading, math, music, movement, art, science and social studies.

    Grades

    Progress reports will be made available weekly, and final grades will be posted on the Home Access Center on the my.SpringISD.org parent portal.

    Attendance

    Students are required by state law to be in attendance for at least 90 percent, 13 days out of the 15 days offered, to receive credit for the classes in which they are enrolled.

    Discipline

    Students are expected to follow and adhere to the Student Code of Conduct.

    Transportation

    Spring ISD will provide transportation to all eligible students.  If forms are submitted after 5/17/2019, you will have to provide your own transportation the first 3 days of summer school.

    Final bus routes, pick-up and drop-off times and locations will be available at your child’s school and posted on the district Summer School website.

    Identification Badges

    In an effort to maintain safety and security, students are required to wear identification badges at all times. Identification badges will be distributed no later than June 5, 2019.

    Meals

    As part of the Seamless Summer Feeding Program, Spring ISD will offer a free nutritional breakfast and lunch to all youth, ages 1 - 18, who live within district attendance boundaries. Breakfast and lunch schedules will vary by campus.
