Degrees and Certifications:
Mr. Rodney Louis
It is back to school time, and we are excited to have you and your child as part of our school community. I hope all is well with you and your families during the COVID-19 Pandemic. I would like to welcome our new families and our returning families back to the 2020-2021 school year. It is our mission to help every child feel welcomed, safe, connected, and a part of our Claughton family. We strive to challenge each student to grow in his or her academic abilities and to be prepared for High School. At Claughton, we have great teachers who spend hours planning and creating classroom activities to engage our students in learning both virtually and in person. We do what is best for kids.
This school year our goal is to improve student performance on the state assessment STAAR, close achievement gaps lost due to the COVID-19 school closure, create a safe learning environment for both teachers and students, and improve parental engagement. I will be calling on parents and the community as we transition through the COVID-19 pandemic. We need your help to make this a reality by living out our core values P.R.I.D.E. and working as an effective learning community/team.
The first day of school is Monday, August 17, 2020. All classes will be virtual for the first four weeks. After the first four weeks, the District will determine if it is safe to return to school in person. We will provide you with any updates.
Finally, I am excited to be a part of a community where parents, teachers, and students care for each other and strive to build positive relationships that support academic, social and emotional growth. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me at 281-891-7950 or email email@example.com.
