Hello Gator Family! My name is Mrs. Hernandez. I am a graduate of Sam Houston State University. I have been a Spring resident since 2009 and I have been a part of the Anderson Elementary family since 2015. This year I will be teaching 2nd grade and I can’t wait for all of the exciting things we will do this school year.

I have a wonderful husband and 3 beautiful girls. My girls love being a part of the Anderson family and they look forward to being at school everyday. My family and I love to be outdoors and we spend most of our time watching our girls play softball. We also love other sports (Go Astros and Texans) and fishing.

It’s going to be an amazing year at Anderson and I can’t wait for the school year to start.

Greetings Gators, my name is Ms. Johnson and this will be my 6th year at Anderson Elementary and my 16th year of teaching in Spring ISD. I am excited to be teaching 2nd grade again this year at Anderson. I have previously taught 3rd and 4th grades and was a Reading Intervention specialist. I graduated from the University of Houston, Main Campus. I am a mother of two wonderful children and two adorable Yorkies. I am originally from Wisconsin but have lived here in Texas for a very long time. (Yes, that means I am a Packers fan... a Packers fan first and a Texans fan second!) I love the Astros as well! I look forward to having your little one in my class and seeing my former students in the halls.

Howdy! My name is Marissa Machado and I am very excited to be teaching 2nd grade at Anderson Elementary this year. I graduated from Texas A&M with a degree in Agricultural Economics. Gig’em Aggies! I quickly realized that my heart was being called into teaching. I am happy to say that it will be my second year at Anderson and I love being a part of the Gator Family!

If I am not at school, I can be found at the dance studio working on my ballroom steps, baking new recipes, hanging out with my family, or laying back watching movies with my kitten, Holly. I know it is going to be a fantastic year!

Mrs. Anne Michelson

Hello! I'm Anne Michelson and I have worked at Anderson for 22 years, 7 as a substitute teacher and 15 as a full time teacher. I was born and raised in New Jersey, but consider Texas my home since I have lived here for 30 years.

I have two grown daughters, Katie and Rachel. Katie and her husband Chris have given me my 2 precious granddaughters. Cora, who is 4 and Anna, who will be 3 in October. My daughter Rachel and her husband Austin have a 1 year old baby boy named Ashton. Both of my daughters were Anderson Gators, so Anderson is like a part of my family.

I taught 4th grade for 10 years and 3rd grade for 4 years. This is my first year in second grade and I am so excited to start! It is a fun age and the reading and writing really begin to take shape at this time in a child’s development.

During my personal time, I enjoy spending time with my children, grandchildren and my 3 dogs.

I am very excited to start this new school year and to have the privilege of getting to know your children. I feel honored to play such an important role in their lives for this year and know that working together we will see much success and growth.

Ms. Sandra Suarez, Bilingual Teacher

Hello, parents & guardians. My name is Sandra E. Suárez and I am the second grade bilingual teacher. I am from Colombia and I have lived in this country for several years. I was a lawyer in Colombia until I married an American and moved to the United States. I got my license as a teacher in this country, and I have been blessed because it is a job that I love. Personal contact with children is something that enriches me and makes each day special. This will be my eighth year at Anderson Elementary, which I call my second home.

I firmly believe that education gives us the tools to make our dreams come true. That has been and will continue to be one of my philosophies of life. Throughout my life, I have acquired good study habits that I convey to my students, but these aspirations require a team effort between parents and teachers. Together we will help the children to succeed.

Hola padres/tutores.
