Hi Anderson parents/guardians! My name is Monalisa Bhattacharyya. This will be my first year teaching at Anderson Elementary and I am excited to join the 4th grade team. I received my Bachelor's and Master's degrees in English. I have been teaching for 8 years. As a child growing up in a family of educators, I knew at a young age that I wanted to be a teacher.

When I am not teaching, I love to cook and try out new recipes. I enjoy travelling and have the wonderful opportunity to travel and explore new places like Switzerland, Germany, Italy, and Greece to name a few.

I am also a proud mother of two boys. My elder is going to start his freshman year in Computer Science in UT Austin and my younger one is going to College Park High School in The Woodlands. I am married to an amazing husband for 21 years. I am thrilled to be your teacher and looking forward to a year of learning, fun and adventures.

Hi, my name is Amanda Prieto! I graduated from Sam Houston State University with a degree in elementary education. While attending Sam, I was lucky enough to do my student teaching at Anderson! It was so great, I didn't want to leave. I was thrilled to become a teacher at Anderson the following year. This will be my 12th year at Anderson. Six of those years were spent teaching third grade, and this is my sixth year teaching fourth grade.

When I’m not teaching, I enjoy reading a good book, playing board games with my husband, and playing with my dogs - Daisy, Lou, and Moose - and my cat PJ. I look forward to a wonderful school year!
