I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Texas A&M University and 8 years of teaching experience. I have taught 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade and have a passion for identifying and knocking down roadblocks for students who struggle in the areas of reading and writing. I have attended many reading and writing trainings and have implemented strategies that have proven successful in the areas of reading and writing instruction. I am so excited to be able to provide intervention for all grade levels of Anderson students this year. When I am not teaching, I enjoy reading and writing as well as traveling, spending time outdoors, and photography. I am excited to leap into my 20th year in Spring ISD. I have really enjoyed my journey in education. I am currently going back to school at Lamar University to earn my masters in Educational Leadership. I earned my Bachelor of Science Degree in Education with an emphasis on Early Childhood Education from Southwest Texas State University (now known as Texas State). I love reading and writing! I've taught 1st, 2nd, 4th, and 5th grade for 16 years in Spring ISD. I have been a literacy coach for two years. This year, I will be a Reading Interventionist for Anderson. My 2 sons both attended Anderson and are now attending Twin Creeks where my husband teaches and coaches. Most of my free time is spent on the baseball field, football field, or basketball court. I have 2 dogs that I adore and I love spending time with my family. I hope to bring literacy alive at Anderson.
