Mrs. Brittani Hatten (Campus Academic Specialist)

Hello, I am Brittani Hatten, the Campus Academic Specialist at Marshall Elementary in the Spring Independent School District. In this position, I design and lead professional development aligned to the school improvement plan, support teachers in the coaching cycle, model instructional practices and coordinate instructional programs in the building. I received my bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and a Master’s degree in Educational Administration from Prairie View A&M University. Over the past few years, I have been a member of the Houston Area Alliance of Black School Educators, as a commitment to closing the achievement gap in Texas.

I am eager to begin the 2023-2024 school year with our students and staff!

Eat’em Up Kats!! I am Yavondalon King, I am the Campus Testing Coordinator, here at Marshall.  This is my 11th year at Marshall and my 18th year in education.  I am a proud graduate of Sam Houston State University, where I earned a Bachelor's degree in Education.  I enjoy spending time with my two beautiful daughters, reading (I can easily get lost in a good book), sports (I am a huge football fan), traveling, trying new recipes or restaurants and being outdoors on a cool autumn day.

Mrs. Beatrice Tristan

Hello Marshall Families. My name is Beatrice Tristan and this year I will be an MClass interventionist serving first and second grade students in reading. I graduated from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, TX. I  have taught for 15 years in grades 3-5 and have been a proud Marshall Marlin for the past 4 years.  I grew up in South Texas and have lived in the Spring community for over 20 years. I am very excited to have the opportunity to work with students in the primary grades.  I believe every student can learn and my goal is to facilitate their learning so they can reach their greatest potential. Good Day Marlins!!!

 I am truly excited about the 2022-2023 school year.  This will be my second year here at Marshall and I look forward to supporting our staff, students, and community as the Literacy Coach. 

I am a proud graduate of Bowie State University and Concordia University. For the past 13 years I have had the pleasure of serving in various roles throughout education. Additionally, I’ve had the privilege to teach many different content areas at the intermediate and secondary grade levels. 

Education is my passion and literacy is my focus! It is a joy to share my passion with everyone I encounter because I believe that education is the key to life.

Mrs. Veronica Persaud (ELA Interventionist)

Greetings Marlin Community!

My name is Veronica Persaud and this is my 15th year in education and with Spring ISD. This is my first year here at Marshall Elementary and I am very excited to be working with our Marlin scholars!! I will be serving as the ELA Interventionist and support for grade levels Kinder to 2nd grade as well as 4th and 5th grade levels. I have taught grades Pre-K to 3rd and love what I do! I believe in establishing a firm literacy foundation that will help our students achieve the competence to expand their reading knowledge, develop into critical thinkers, and become life-long learners. I graduated from the University of Houston-Downtown with a bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and a Master’s degree in Educational Administration from Lamar University. I have been married for 28 years and have 3 wonderful children who have all attended Spring ISD schools (eldest is a high school math teacher, middle child works at Vet hospital, and youngest is a senior at Wunsche high school). Mrs. Karen Bodiford (Math Coach)

Welcome! We are growing greatness at Gloria Marshall Elementary, and I am honored to be a part of the 2023-24 Instructional Leadership Team. 

 

This is my 8th year as a Marlin, and my 23rd year as an educator. 

I joined the staff at Marshall Elementary in 2015 as a 4th Grade Math teacher.  In 2016 I accepted the role of Literacy Coach for grades 3-5 and then  moved to the Math coach position in 2017. This year,  I will step into the role of PK-3 Math Coach. Even though I say this every year, I feel confident that this will be the best year yet. 

 

I hold an associate’s degree from Ranger Junior College, and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Tyler.    I have two wonderful children, one daughter and one son, and two incredible grandchildren.  Any time you see me, I will be happy to share my gbaby pictures.  Yes, I am that grandmother.

Mrs. Tina Land

Greetings  Marshall families! My name is Mrs. Land, and I am “super excited” to be a part of the Marshall family. This is my 3rd year in Spring ISD and 1st year at Marshall Elementary.

 I have 37 years of experience as a math instructor, and have served in the capacity as a department chair and skills specialist in the Aldine ISD. Teaching math is my passion, and I am so grateful to be given the opportunity to serve as an interventionist for grades 3rd- 5th for the 2023-2024 school year.

 

I am certified in mathematics with a Bachelor of Science degree from Prairie View A&M University. I also hold a Masters of Education in Educational Administration from Stephen F. Austin University. 

It is with hard work, determination, and diligence that I am currently completing my Doctorate of Leadership in ministry from Carolina Christian College.

 

I have been happily married to a wonderful guy for 39 years, who's also an educator. I am blessed to have 3 lovely daughters and an amazing son. I am also grateful to have one delightful granddaughter who melts my heart.

 

In my spare time, I love spending quality time with family, shopping, reading, and I embrace health and fitness.  I look forward to working with my Marlin mathematicians this school year.

Mrs. Elizabert Watson (Student Support Specialist)

Greetings Marlins! I am excited to begin my 17th year in Education and 2nd year as a Marvelous Marlin. I achieved my bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems and masters degree in Elementary Education from the University of Louisiana at Monroe and a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Grand Canyon University. Throughout my career, I have taught 2nd, 3rd, and 5th grade; been a Reading and Math Interventionist for 3rd-5th grade; and supported teachers as a Literacy Coach. Outside of being an educator, I enjoy spending time with my family, listening to live music, and reading.  This year I will be serving as your Student Support Specialist, eager to serve and help students grow to greatness!
