Mrs. Brittani Hatten (Campus Academic Specialist)

Brittani Hatten is currently a Campus Academic Specialist at Marshall Elementary in the Spring Independent School District. In this position, she designs and leads professional development aligned to the school improvement plan, supports teachers in the coaching cycle, models instructional practices and coordinates instructional programs in the building. Brittani received her bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and a Master’s degree in Educational Administration from Prairie View A&M University. Over the past few years, she has been a member  of the Houston Area Alliance of Black School Educators, as a commitment to closing the achievement gap in Texas.

I am eager to begin the 2022-2023 school year with our students and staff!

Hi Marvelous Marshall Marlins!

My name is Mrs. Cramond and I have been an educator for 14 years. I have been a proud marlin for the past 11 years. I have taught grades 1st-3rd. I am currently the Student Support Specialist. I am here to serve and to help students succeed academically and get the intervention services they may need to do that. 

I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of Houston Downtown and a Master’s degree in Educational Administration from Lamar University. 

My husband and I  are the proud parents of four children and an adorable granddaughter.

I am Yavondalon King. I am the Campus Testing Coordinator, here at Marshall.  This is my 10th year at Marshall and my 17th year in education.  I am a proud graduate of Sam Houston State University, where I earned a Bachelor's degree in Education.  I enjoy spending time with my two beautiful daughters, reading (I can easily get lost in a good book), sports  (I am a huge football fan), traveling, trying new recipes or restaurants and being outdoors on a cool autumn day.

Hello Marshall Families.

My name is Beatriz Tristán and this year I will be an MClass interventionist serving first and second grade students in reading. I graduated from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, TX. I  have taught for 14 years in grades 3-5. This will be my fourth year at Marshall Elementary. I grew up in South Texas but have lived in the Spring community for over 20 years. I am very excited to have the opportunity to work with students in the primary grades this year. I am confident that, with your support, our students can and will succeed!

 I am truly excited about the 2022-2023 school year.  This will be my second year here at Marshall and I look forward to supporting our staff, students, and community as the Literacy Coach. 

I am a proud graduate of Bowie State University and Concordia University. For the past 13 years I have had the pleasure of serving in various roles throughout education. Additionally, I’ve had the privilege to teach many different content areas at the intermediate and secondary grade levels. 

Education is my passion and literacy is my focus! It is a joy to share my passion with everyone I encounter because I believe that education is the key to life.

Hello Marlins!

My name is Itsa Figueroa and this will be my 24th year as an educator and 3rd year at Marshall. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Arts as an ESL/Bilingual teacher with a minor in Elementary from the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico, teaching middle and high school and a Masters in Administration and Leadership from Houston Baptist University. These last 17 years that I have been in Houston, I have taught from 1st to 8th grade, was a Math/Science Instructional Coach, and this will be my 2nd year as the EL Coordinator. I hope we have a wonderful year.

Mrs. Veronica Persaud (ELA Interventionist)

Greetings Marlin Community!

My name is Veronica Persaud and this is my 15th year in education and with Spring ISD. This is my first year here at Marshall Elementary and I am very excited to be working with our Marlin scholars!! I will be serving as the ELA Interventionist and support for grade levels Kinder to 2nd grade as well as 4th and 5th grade levels. I have taught grades Pre-K to 3rd and love what I do! I believe in establishing a firm literacy foundation that will help our students achieve the competence to expand their reading knowledge, develop into critical thinkers, and become life-long learners. I graduated from the University of Houston-Downtown with a bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and a Master’s degree in Educational Administration from Lamar University. I have been married for 28 years and have 3 wonderful children who have all attended Spring ISD schools (eldest is a high school math teacher, middle child works at Vet hospital, and youngest is a senior at Wunsche high school). Mrs. Karen Bodiford (Math Coach)

Greetings!

Let me introduce myself, I am Karen Bodiford, an academic coach at Marshall.  After spending 2 years as a World Language teacher in Dallas, Texas and 14 years as a Dual Language teacher in Jacksonville, Texas (1 year in 3rd grade/13 years in 4th grade), I moved to Spring to be closer to family.  I joined the staff at Marshall Elementary in 2015 as a 4th Grade Math teacher.  In 2016 I accepted the role of Literacy Coach for grades 3-5 and then  moved to the Math coach position in 2017. This year,  I will work as an instructional coach for both ELAR and Math. This is my 6th year as a Marlin, and I feel confident that this will be the best year yet.  I am blessed professionally with a career that I love and very proud to be a part of the Marshall family working in a role that helps grow teachers and students.  In my personal life, I am also blessed to have two wonderful children, one daughter and one son, and two incredible grandchildren.  Any time you see me, I will be happy to share my gbaby pictures.  Yes, I am that grandmother.

My name is Mrs. Ruiz and this will be my 11th year as a bilingual educator and 1st year at Marshall. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education EC-6th from Interamerican University of Puerto Rico. I have taught Math for grade levels from 3rd all the way to 6th. Mrs. Angela Miller (Math Interventionist)

Hello Marvelous Marlins!

My name is Mrs. Angela Miller and I have been an educator for 10 years. I’ve worked in Aldine ISD (5 years) and Spring ISD (5 years). I am a proud undergraduate of Sam Houston State University in Interdisciplinary Studies (EC-6th grade) and a graduate student from Lamar University with a Masters in Educational Administration. I will be serving as your Math Interventionist this year and so excited about it! I have 8-year-old twins that will also be attending Marshall in 3rd grade. My husband is also a proud employee of Spring ISD.
