Hello Marlins! My Name is Ms. Chaterica Wilson! This will be my third year teaching 3rd grade Math. This is my first year at Marshall and my 5th year in Spring ISD. I grew up in Houston, Texas, where I graduated from Westfield High School . I have a Bachelor's degree in Education from the University of Houston-Downtown. Outside of teaching, I enjoy traveling with my 2-year-old son and spending time with my family and friends. We are going to have a MARVELOUS YEAR!

Mrs. Alyce Byrd
I am very excited to work with the 3rd grade team again this year. This is my eighth year with Spring ISD at Marshall Elementary School. I graduated from Old Westbury College with a Bachelor’s of Science in Elementary Education and have a Master’s degree in Special Education from Long Island University. I love teaching children and it is a privilege to help them grow and develop their enquiring minds. Out of school, I love attending the theater, traveling and have a true passion for jazz.

Ms. Megan Downs
Hello Marlins! My name is Ms. Downs, I graduated with my bachelors degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Houston-Downtown in 2022. I began my journey in education back in 2021 at my alma mater, Dekaney High School as a paraprofessional where I fell in love with education and began planning a career in the field. I will be third grade’s self-contained teacher this year, teaching all subjects in my room. When I am not teaching, I enjoy going to the gym, spending time with my family, and planning future adventures with my fiance.

Hello Marlins! My name is Briana Harper! This will be my third-year teaching. This is my first year at Marshall. I grew up in Houston, Texas. I have a Bachelor's degree in Education from the University of North Texas. I have always had a love for reading and I hope to motivate all my students to increase their love for it as well. I believe in building lifelong learners.Outside of teaching, I enjoy traveling with my two-year-old daughter and husband. I look forward to a successful and fun year with the Marlin Community!

Ms. Maria Matos (Bilingual Teacher)
Hello! My name is Maria Matos. This will be my 7th year at Marshall Elementary, my 9th year in Spring ISD, and my 29th year teaching in Texas. I am from New York. I graduated from Sacred Heart University in Puerto Rico with a Bachelor’s degree in Bilingual Education and a Masters degree from SUNY at Buffalo, New York. I have taught in grades 1st-5th in Texas, and enjoy teaching the primary grades. I have two adult children and during my pastime I love to travel with my family, go to the movies and/or shop. This year, I am so happy to be in 3rd grade with your children! It will be awesome. I expect your children, my scholars, to achieve amazingly in Spanish and English Language Arts and ESL Social Studies. It is my pleasure to teach them! I enjoy teaching Bilingual Students both languages simultaneously and see how awesomely they grow academically and enjoy learning too!
¡Hola! Mi nombre es María Matos. Este será mi octavo año en Marshall Elementary, mi octavo año en Spring ISD y mi vigésimo noveno año enseñando en Texas. Soy de Nueva York. Me gradué de la Universidad del Sagrado Corazón en Puerto Rico con una licenciatura en Educación Bilingüe y una Maestría de SUNY en Buffalo, Nueva York. He enseñado en los grados 1ero a 5to en Texas y disfruto enseñando en los grados primarios. Tengo dos hijos adultos y durante mi pasatiempo me encanta viajar con mi familia, ir al cine y/o hacer compras. ¡Este año, estoy muy feliz de estar en 3er grado con sus hijos! Será genial. Espero que sus hijos, mis eruditos, logren resultados sorprendentes en lengua y literatura en español e inglés y estudios sociales de ESL. ¡Es un placer enseñarles! ¡Disfruto enseñando a los estudiantes bilingües ambos idiomas simultáneamente y ver cómo crecen académicamente y disfrutan aprendiendo también!

Mrs. Helane Sakleh (Bilingual Teacher)
Hello everyone!!! My name is Helane Sakhleh. I was born in Peru and moved to Houston in 2006. I attended the University of Houston where I graduated with a degree in Bilingual education. I've been an elementary teacher for seven years. My first year, I taught third grade bilingual, then I taught fifth grade bilingual for 5 years, and this school year I will be teaching third grade bilingual again! This is my third year with Spring ISD and I couldn't be happier! I am married and have two beautiful daughters.
