Mrs. Shaniqua Irving

Hello and welcome to 5th grade Math and Science.  I've been teaching for a total of 15 years. I taught 7 years at Houston ISD and my current 8 years in Spring ISD (where I plan to retire from).

As a child, I was moved around from different schools and states. I was known as a latch-key kid. I've lived in Denison, Iowa (Headstart-2nd grade) Spokane, Washington (4th-6th),  Huntsville, Texas (3rd, 7th-9th), Hempstead, Texas (10th-12th). Attended the best HBCU in the state of Texas, Prairie View A&M University. I received my BA from Prairie View A&M University and my teaching certificate from ACT Houston. I ended up moving from Houston to  Spring Texas as an adult.  So I see the importance of stability and how it affects a child.

I enjoy children of all ages, traveling, cooking, watching movies, and spending time with my family.

I am looking forward to a successful year with Marshall Marlin scholars!

My motto: Being wrong is okay with me, but failing to try is not. We will together keep trying until we succeed at the goal.
