Superintendent's Message

  • Welcome to the 2021-22 school year in Spring ISD!

I’m excited about what is ahead for our Spring ISD community as we continue to put the worst of the COVID-19 pandemic behind us. We have worked hard over the past 17 months to ensure we have the right programs, staff and resources to truly reap a harvest.

First and foremost, we’re embarking on a traditional school schedule this year with all students learning in-person. And, as I write this, we will not be requiring masks or social distancing, unless guidance changes from our local health officials.

As a parent and educator, I’m excited about everything that will be possible this year for our children as we open up all of our amenities, programs and school activities. This year, we’re launching even more options for our students, from the new Early College P-Tech program at Dekaney High School to our School for International Studies at Bammel.

If anything, the challenges of last year have given us a renewed commitment to meeting the needs of each and every student, not only in the classroom but from a social and emotional perspective as well. We’re expanding our focus on overall well-being by adding more counselors and programs to ensure we care for the whole child.

At the center of everything we do this year will be our ongoing focus on equity. The goal is simple: Identify and eliminate any barriers to student success so that we can ensure excellent, equitable outcomes for every child in our district.

Again, I’m excited about the upcoming school year and I hope you are as well.
