Lakisha Barnaby
Hello Husky Family,
My name is LaKisha Barnaby. I am honored to serve as the school counselor at Heritage Elementary. This is my sixteenth year in Spring ISD, and I have been a part of the Heritage family since 2016. In previous years, I have served as a classroom teacher, mentor teacher, and instructional specialist.
As the school counselor, I help to provide students with self-regulating social and emotional tools that are applicable in everyday life. We cannot always control what happens to us in our lives, but we do have the power to choose how we respond. Overcoming obstacles through resilience and self-confidence is important.
The theme for this school year is “I Believe”. I believe our students can reach their highest potential with help from their families and the Heritage staff. I believe our staff has the capacity to reach and teach every child with the help of administration, parents, and the community. I believe we will reach our goals if we work together. We win as a TEAM!
