About Anderson Elementary

  • Anderson Anderson Elementary is named for George E. Anderson and opened its doors in 1979. Anderson was the ninth elementary school to open in Spring ISD. Mr. Anderson served on the Spring ISD Board of Trustees from 1969 to 1978. He served five of those years as president and one year as vice president. During 1967-1968, Mr. Anderson also served as president of the Spring Athletic Booster Club and was a member of the Spring Band Boosters Club. He and his wife, Jean, were the first organizers of the Spring High School PTA in 1969-1970.

    Anderson is located near Bush International Airport at the corner of Lynngate and Cypresswood Drive, about 2.5 miles north of 1960 East. The Anderson school colors are green and gold and the mascot is the gator. Anderson Elementary was a TEA Exemplary Campus for 2009-2010 and for 2010-2011. Anderson also recently became a Leader in Me campus for the 2017-2018 school year.

      Our campus is one of the first 7 schools in Spring ISD to offer full day Pre-K classes.
    • We have a wide variety of after school clubs, extracurricular programs and leadership opportunities available to students, including: volleyball, basketball, soccer, cheerleading, Creative Dramatics (drama club), Student Council, anti-bullying club, student attendance committee, Encore Choir, Rise & Shine action team and Fuel Up to Play 60.
    • We also offer several volunteer programs and opportunities to parents and community members including, but not limited to: Watch DOGS, Kids' Hope, Parent-Teacher Organization, and Box Tops for Education.
    • Each year our students and staff participate in a number of charitable giving projects, including Jump Rope for Heart benefiting the American Heart Association and Pennies for Patients benefiting the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Each grade level also coordinates a student-led service project.
