Spring High School

Spring Independent School District

  • Student Code of Conduct

    • The Student Code of Conduct (Code) is the district’s response to the requirements of Chapter 37 of the Texas Education Code.

The Code provides methods and options for managing students in the classroom and on school grounds, disciplining students, and preventing and intervening in student discipline problems.

The law requires the district to define misconduct that may—or must—result in a range of specific disciplinary consequences including removal from a regular classroom or campus, outof-school suspension, placement in a disciplinary alternative education program (DAEP), placement in a juvenile justice alternative education program (JJAEP), or expulsion from school.

This Student Code of Conduct has been adopted by the Spring Independent School District Board of Trustees and developed with the advice of a district-level committee. This Code provides information to parents and students regarding standards of conduct, consequences of misconduct, and procedures for administering discipline. It remains in effect during summer school and at all school-related events and activities outside the school year until an updated version adopted by the board becomes effective for the next school year.

In accordance with state law, the Code shall be posted at each school campus or shall be available for review at the office of the campus principal. Additionally, the Code shall be available at the office of the campus behavior coordinator and posted on the district’s website. Parents shall be notified of any conduct violation that may result in a student being suspended, placed in a DAEP or JJAEP, expelled, or taken into custody by a law enforcement officer under Chapter 37 of the Education Code.

Because the Student Code of Conduct is adopted by the district’s Board of Trustees, it has the force of policy; therefore, in case of conflict between the Code and the Student Handbook, the Code shall prevail.

Please note: The discipline of students with disabilities who are eligible for services under federal law (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973) is subject to the provisions of those laws.

    Class of 2022

I am thrilled to welcome you back to the 2021-2022 year at Spring High School. I am excited to get back into a normal school routine. My name is Kim Denman and I am the SHS Senior Class Sponsor for the 2021-2022 school year.  I believe every senior will have success and it starts with positive experiences and grows into many more throughout the school year.  This year will be memorable and will fly by, so keep your eyes focused on the prize….....GRADUATION!

We have planned many activities for you to celebrate your status as a Senior! We will be sending a calendar of senior events in the coming weeks.  In order to participate in some on campus senior events, we are asking each senior to pay Senior Dues. To avoid charging separately for each event and item, we will collect a one-time activity fee of $30.

Senior Dues will cover the following items and events:

     Official Senior Class T-shirt

★ Senior Breakfast at the Panoramic picture

★ Senior Breakfast at the Senior Sunrise

★ Monthly Birthday Recognition for seniors and prizes for fun class/team building contests throughout the year

★ Senior Class gift to the school at the end of your senior year

Senior Dues are not mandatory and are NOT required to graduate in May, but we want to encourage you to pay them so you don’t miss out on the fun!

    CLASS THEMES & CLASS T-SHIRT

The Senior class will vote on the themes they want to represent the graduating class of 2022. Themes include: flower, motto, quote, hashtag, song. Seniors will also have the opportunity to vote on the official class t-shirt. This is included in the price of senior dues. If you would like to submit t-shirt designs you can email them to Mrs. Denman (kdenman@springisd.org). Please submit designs by Friday, September 3rd.

**Important: The official senior class t-shirt is included in the $30 payment of senior dues. If you are being asked to pay separately for a shirt, it is not sponsored by the Senior Class Officers, Senior Board, or class sponsors.

    SENIOR PERSONALIZED PARKING SPOT

Spring High School is allowing the Class of 2022 seniors to paint and personalize their own parking spot for the 2021-2022 school year. This activity is aimed at improving school pride, school culture and class camaraderie.  This is also one of many fundraising campaigns for the Class of 2022. Purchasing a Reserved Personalized Senior Parking Space allows the purchasing senior to personalize their assigned space by painting it. Funds raised will be used for senior events and activities for the class of 2022.

This fundraising opportunity will benefit many seniors, and also provide convenience not previously afforded. "NON-RESERVED" or "General" parking spaces will continue to be available for senior students who do not wish to purchase and decorate a parking spot.  Details attached.

    SENIOR SHOWCASE

Calling all Seniors!!  The Senior Showcase is scheduled for Friday, August 6, 2021 from 4pm-6pm at Spring High School.  This is an opportunity to pay your Senior Dues, pick up your schedule, learn about the new bell schedule, meet with Herff Jones Representatives to begin ordering grad gear and caps and gowns, and much more.  Afterwards, seniors will walk to the stadium at 7pm for Meet the Lions Night and ‘Light it Up’ (light up the class numbers) for the Class of 2022.

    SENIOR SUNRISE

Senior Sunrise will be held on Wednesday, August 11, on the first day of school at George Leonard Stadium at 6:40am.  Seniors will gather with your class to commemorate their last first day of school.  This event will be coordinated by the Senior Class Officers and Senior parents.

Would you like to be involved in the planning of Senior Class activities? Join the Senior Board! Senior Board will work alongside the senior class officers and class sponsor to plan events and may be able to attend senior events at no cost.
