Caregiving amidst COVID-19: How do we support our children during a pandemic?

As parents, we are often faced with the very difficult challenge of reassuring our children during times of stress, while acknowledging that bad things can and do happen in this world. This is the challenge we are now confronted with during the COVID-19 pandemic. How do we help our children navigate these new and unfamiliar circumstances, while ensuring that we are being honest about the reality of the situation? Based research, we have some idea of how children are likely to react to the pandemic and what we, as caregivers and parents, can do to support them.
