ELEMENTARY ART
-
Students in the Spring ISD Elementary Art program learn skills through a TEKS-aligned curriculum that focuses on timeless and broad concepts employing the elements of art and principles of design.
- Students explore the elements of art and principles of design, art history, and world cultures, while making real-world connections.
- Students gain a well-rounded foundational experience through instruction in various forms of media and techniques, which include painting, drawing, sculpting, printmaking, ceramics, mixed media, weaving, collage, digital art and more.
- Students build appreciation of the visual arts by dialoguing about their art experiences, interpretation, and thoughts about various works of art.
- Visual art content is sequenced to provide a unique and enriching learning experience at each grade level that is designed to help students advance in their study of art at the middle school level and develop an informed appreciation for the visual arts.
