Overview of New PVA Teacher Academy
- Year 2 of Implementation: PVA teachers with 0-3 years of teaching experience develop a toolkit of essential strategies and best practices specifically tailored to the fine arts classroom.
- Arts Integration Coordinator will provide support for novice teachers through the continuous improvement model:
- Plan

Each participating teacher with 0-3 years of experience will complete the initial 2-hour training module on New PVA Teacher Academy processes, procedures, and accountability measures. The session will include an introduction to the Essential Strategies and Best Practices Toolkit.

Participating Year 0-3 PVA teachers will receive a digital Continuous Improvement Portfolio, to which they will add artifacts from their implementation of the essential strategies and best practices.

Each participating year 0-3 PVA teacher will post twice each week on the PVA New Teacher Discussion blog and respond to at least two of their colleagues' posts each week.

Each participating year 0-3 PVA teacher will upload videos and pictures of student work and performances created during a lesson or project.

Videos should be short clips to provide a sample of student work (i.e. 30-second to 3-minute clip of a performance).

Teachers may also attach pictures or short videos of students during rehearsals or guided practice sessions.
