Building Bridges with the Board

Building Bridges with the Board, a series of community outreach meetings facilitated by the Spring ISD Board of Trustees, was launched to increase community engagement with our elected trustees. As a result, several main topics of discussion and action items have been implemented from the feedback received
at the meetings.

Safety
- Remember, all students are required to wear their ID badges at all times, including on the school bus.
- Did you know that Spring ISD campuses are equipped with automatic door locks that can only be opened with a scanned badge?
- Safety first!
Parent Engagement
- Did you know that each campus has a parent organization? The Family and Community Engagement Department provides training monthly to support parent group officers.
- The Family and Community Engagement Department will enhance their training to provide best practices in engaging and empowering families.
Recruit and Retain High Quality Teachers
- We support our staff’s mental, emotional and psychological health by providing two wellness days per year for staff members.
- Spring ISD provides ongoing training to support teachers.

School Culture and Discipline
- Students are working with staff to create campus mottos and slogans.
- We have implemented Yoginis as part of Mindfulness Mondays to help increase positive behaviors.

Educational Programs
- Please take a look at the Educational Planning Guide (EPG) to learn more about programs offered in our schools.
- Each year our counselors provide an opportunity for families to take part in their child’s course selection process. Please be sure to stay in touch with your child’s counselor to learn about those opportunities.
Community Communication The Communications Department has formed a committee to determine the best communication platform for families.
