The Investigator is a commissioned peace officer assigned to the Support Division of the Spring ISD Police Department. The Investigator has the genreal duties and responsibilities of Patrol Officers in addition to his/her specific duties of conducting sensitive and complex investigations under the general supervision of the Chief of Police or his/her designee.
The investigator investigates alleged or suspected civil or criminal violations of federal and state laws, local statutes and ordinances, and District regulations; examines scene of crime; locates, collects, identifies, and maintains custody of evidence; interviews victims, witnesses, and potential suspects; verifies information obtained to establish accuracy and authenticity of facts; determines if evidence is sufficient to recommend prosecution; reports critical information to and assists governmental law enforcement agencies when applicable.
Gang Suppression Unit
The Gang Suppression Officers are commissioned peace officers assigned to the Support Division of the Spring ISD Police Department. The Gang Suppression Officers have the genreal duties and responsibilities of Patrol Officers in addition to their specific duties of conducting investigations of gang involvement that involves or affects students, staff and property of the Spring Independent School District.
Spring ISD Police Department established a gang suppression unit during the summer of 2013 that focuses on preventing gang-related activities from occurring on Spring ISD campuses.
The Gang Suppression Unit performs the following;
- Investigation of all observed and reported Gang Activity & Information within SISD.
- Enforcement through Law
- Intervention through programs
- Education of Parent Students and Staff of SISD
