    Dekaney HS senior surprised with $100,000 scholarship from APQC

    Dekaney High School senior Aaron Hernandez was awarded a $100,000 scholarship from American Productivity & Quality Center (APQC) and the C. Jackson Grayson Scholarship Program. Hernandez, a Fellow with the EMERGE program, is headed to Lewis and Clark University in Portland, Ore. this fall to study Computer Science.

Spring ISD and EMERGE

  • Spring ISD has launched the EMERGE program to prepare high-potential students from underserved communities to attend and graduate from selective colleges and universities from across the nation. 

    Students in the EMERGE program will attend college admissions workshops, get personalized assistance with applications, receive SAT/ACT preparation and visit universities during a special summer tour. They will also have an opportunity to meet with current college students from the Houston area, who can provide mentoring and advice.
