    Mrs. Chandra Johnson-Pearson

As a 27-year veteran educator, with 15 years teaching experience and 12 years school counseling experience, Mrs. J-P has indeed found her niche in middle school counseling where she serves as Campus Lead School Counselor at Edwin M. Wells Middle School and District Lead Middle School Counselor for Spring ISD.  After several years in the private sector, Mrs. J-P began her career in education on an Emergency Permit in 1991 at Northwood Middle School in North Forest ISD as a Theatre Arts and Speech teacher.  After fulfilling 54 hours of deficiency credits in education in just three years, Mrs. J-P obtained her teaching certificate in 1994.  In 2001, after Tropical Storm Allison devastated several schools in North Forest ISD, Mrs. J-P moved on to service at BC Elmore Middle School and Forest Brook High School.

After 12 years of service leadership in North Forest ISD, Mrs. J-P began service in Spring ISD at Twin Creeks Middle School where she taught Theatre Arts and Speech until answering the call of school counseling in 2006.  In August 2006, Mr. Cornelius Phelps, then Principal of Wells Middle School, recognized Mrs. J-P’s potential as a School Counselor and hired her as the 6th Grade School Counselor.

In addition to 6th Grade School Counselor, during the last 12 years of school counseling at Wells Middle School, Mrs. J-P has served the learning community in several different capacities: as Campus Lead School Counselor (since February 2012); as District Middle School Lead Counselor (since August 2014); and as National Junior Honor Society Chapter Advisor (since August 2015).  Most recently, Mrs. J-P has finished a cycle of looping with her students as their 6th, 7th, and 8th Grade School Counselor.
