Team Spring ISD Retention Supplement

With a focus on employee retention, the Team Spring ISD Retention Supplement was approved by the Spring ISD Board of Trustees at their regular Board Meeting on Oct. 8, 2019.
Under the guidelines of this one-time employee supplement, eligible full-time employees will be paid $1,000 while half-time employees will be paid $500 on the regular Nov. 25, 2019 payroll.

Q: How do you qualify for the supplement?
A: All full and half-time employees in good standing, whose start date was before Sept. 3, 2019 are eligible.

Q: I am out on approved leave. Will I still receive the supplement?
A: Yes. Employees on approved leave are eligible for the supplement.

Q: Are half-time employees eligible?
A: Yes. An employee who is employed as a .5 FTE or less will receive ½ (one half) of the supplement. Any employee who is employed as greater than .5 FTE will receive the full supplement. The employee's supplement will be based on his or her status as of the processing of the Nov. 25, 2019 payroll.

Q: Are substitute teachers and temporary employees eligible?
A: No. Substitutes and temporary employees are not eligible to receive the supplement.

Q: Will this supplement count toward my TRS compensation?
A; No. The retention supplement is not TRS eligible compensation. Social Security, Medicare, Federal Income Tax, and any other mandated deductions will be withheld.

Q: If I resign will I be eligible for the retention supplement?
A: No, employees must be employed through the processing of the Nov. 25, 2019 payroll to be eligible.

Q: Is the retention supplement a one-time payment?
A: Yes. Employees have no property right in the continuation of any payment provided as a result of the board resolution.
