Counselor for 6th grade A-L & 8th grade
I am a Houston native and an alumni of The University of North Texas and Lamar University. I enjoy spending time with family, staying active with my two daughters, and traveling to new places. I have worked in education for over 14 years and have a passion for advocating for what's best for kids.As a middle school counselor, I pride myself on building relationships with my students, fostering their social/emotional development, assisting in removing barriers to learning, goal-setting and career planning. Counselor for 6th grade M-Z & 7th gradeOver the last 12 years, Houston has become my second home. I am originally from Cleveland, Ohio, where the majority of my family still resides. I am an Alumni of Miami University (in Ohio, not Florida) and Lamar University. I have a sweet baby girl who is my world. I enjoy spending time with family, traveling, and learning photography. This is my 13th year in education; I've taught kindergarten, 2nd, and 3rd grade, done reading intervention, elementary and middle school counseling.Working with children has been my dream job. I believe that meeting a student's social/emotional needs is just as important as meeting their academic needs. I am an advocate for mindfulness and selfcare for students, parents, and staff.
