Dr. Barnes serves as the associate principal of Curriculum & Instruction at Bailey Middle School.  Before becoming associate principal, Dr. Barnes spent two years as the 6th grade assistant principal.  Over the past fourteen years, she has served as elementary assistant principal, high school instructional coach, both elementary and middle school teacher, and education consultant.  Dr. Barnes is a proud graduate of Alcorn State University.  She earned her Master’s degree in Education at Lamar University and completed her Doctorate degree in Education Leadership at Sam Houston State University. Dr. Barnes truly believes that every child can learn and works diligently to expound teacher capacity so that every child has an opportunity for success.

Mrs. Taina Sierra, 8th Grade Assistant Principal

Mrs. Sierra will be serving as the 8th grade assistant principal at Bailey Middle School this year.  Prior to working for Spring ISD, Mrs. Sierra had 9 years of administrative experience in Florida and over 7 years of teaching both elementary and middle school students.  She is a graduate from both Florida Atlantic University and Florida International University.  Mrs. Sierra is committed to maximizing children's opportunities to succeed academically and socially.  She is confident this is possible as long as relationships between parents, students, faculty, staff and the community are built and all align together for the sake of the most precious resource- our children.

Dr. Hykeem Craft, 6th Grade Assistant Principal

Dr. Craft serves as the 6th grade assistant principal at Bailey Middle School. During his tenure as an educator, he has served as a teacher and educational leader at both the middle and high school levels. Dr. Craft has served as a secondary ELA instructional specialist, instructional team leader, high school ELA and LOTE teacher, as well as a middle school ELA teacher in both Texas and Tennessee. Dr. Craft is a proud graduate of Austin Peay State University (Let’s Go Peay!), where he earned his bachelor’s degree in English and his master’s degree in curriculum and instruction. Dr. Craft earned his doctoral degree in educational leadership from Sam Houston State University (Eat ‘em Up Kats!). Dr. Craft strives to ensure each and every student he encounters receives a well-rounded and culturally-relevant education.
