Want to recognize a Spring ISD employee for doing a great job?
Here’s your chance: You can nominate anyone serving in the district, including teachers, custodians, secretaries, clerks, mechanics, bus drivers, librarians, nurses, counselors, etc., for an Employee Excellence Award.
Awarded by the Spring ISD Board of Trustees each month during the regular board meeting, the award recognizes district employees who exemplify the district’s guiding principles and core values. Only one employee will be selected for this prestigious award each month. Among the monthly winners, one will be named as the grand prize recipient at the Spring ISD Employee Recognition Banquet in May. The only employees not eligible for this award are Cabinet members and the Spring ISD Board of Trustees.
We’re looking for employees who are bringing the Spring ISD mission to life and helping us reach each and every Spring ISD student. An example of a perfect nomination would be:
- A teacher who is working extra hours to help her campus prepare for upcoming STAAR testing
- A bus driver who volunteers to read at an elementary school when not scheduled
- A finance employee who serves on the board of a local community nonprofit that supports Spring ISD students
These examples are only a start. There are many Spring ISD team members who are doing excellent work every single day.
To nominate them for the Spring ISD Board of Trustees Employee Excellence Award, complete the online recognition nomination form.
A successful nomination will include as much detail as possible to describe why the person should be considered for an award. Tell the story of that employee to the Board of Trustees by giving specific examples of excellent work and dedicated service to the district.
Employee Excellence Award Q & A
Nominees must be employed full-time and have been a Spring ISD employee for a minimum of six months. Anyone working in the district, including teachers, custodians, secretaries, clerks, mechanics, bus drivers, librarians, nurses, counselors, etc., is eligible for a nomination. The only non-eligible employees are Cabinet members and the Spring ISD Board of Trustees.
The Board ofTrustees Employee Excellence Award is an opportunity for the Spring ISD Board of Trustees to publicly highlight and acknowledge outstanding performance.
The following criteria will be considered in the review of nominations:
Strive for excellence: consistently and substantially exceeds the expectations of the position, performing at a level above and beyond normal job requirements; has made important and significant contributions in their area; has furthered the mission of the district.
Team collaboration: consistently and substantially demonstrates the ability and willingness to work positively, respectfully, and effectively with others; has significantly improved customer service or has increased student satisfaction in their area; demonstrates ability and willingness to manage changes in work priorities, procedures, and organization.
Solution-driven: has significantly improved a work process or system, or has significantly increased the efficiency of an operation or department; consistently seeks to improve the quality of work assigned; demonstrates efforts to expand work responsibilities.
The monthly winner will be highlighted during the recognition portion of the board meeting. Winners will take photos with the Board, be presented a plaque, and Spring ISD's gold lapel pin. In addition, the winner will be recognized on the district's website.
All of the monthly winners will be considered for the annual Employee Excellence Award. All winners will have the opportunity to attend the Employee Recognition Banquet held in May. The Board of Trustees will select an Annual Employee of the Year award winner. This grand prize winner will receive an Employee of the Year plaque and $1000 check.
