  • A Note From the Principal

I cannot believe it is already February! We are making gains in several areas and celebrating several student accomplishments. We have our first SECA team that has qualified for the State UIL CX Debate tournament in March. Our Science Olympiad Teams brought home 1st and 2nd Place from the district meet and the Rodeo Art show will feature one of our advanced Art students. Renisha Wiley, SECA Biology teacher, has been honored by the Houston Area Alliance of Black School Educators as the SECA HAABSE Teacher of the Year. We are proud of all the accomplishments of our students and staff.

With End of course and AP tests right around the corner, we are ready to amp up our efforts to make sure students are prepared. Our next scheduled benchmark is Friday February 21 and our EOC camps, TSI prep, and AP review will begin on Saturday February 29. Talk to your student about their progress. Our goals for EOC are 100% at Approaches/100% at Meets and 30% at Masters for English I and English II. We will continue our after school tutorials each Tuesday and Wednesday. We are here to support in every way possible. If you have questions or want some additional information on how you can support your student please reach out to us. Our Teachers, support staff and Administrative Team are here to help. We know our students will meet the challenge!

    Sincerely,

    Kristine Guidry
