Hello! My name is Kristy Contreras. This is my 12th year at Anderson Elementary and I am excited to be a part of this wonderful learning community! I grew up in Kingwood and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education from the University of Houston. Before coming to Anderson, I worked at Barnes and Noble in the children’s department and in Community Relations. I also attended the Disney College Program Internship in Orlando, Florida by working in customer relations at Walt Disney World. I truly enjoy working with children and families!

I have my own loving, supportive family consisting of my husband, my 5-year-old daughter, and my wild and sweet Siberian Husky. When I am not at school, I enjoy reading, movies, shopping and game nights with my family. I like to consider my students as part of my family, and I look forward to meeting the needs of every child that walks into my classroom - especially yours! I am excited to work together to make this the best year at Anderson!

I am originally from Wisconsin but have lived here in Texas for a very long time. (Yes, that means I am a Packers fan... a Packers fan first and a Texans fan second!) I look forward to having your little one in my class and seeing my former students in the halls.

Ms. Sandra Suarez, Bilingual Teacher

Hello, parents/guardians.  My name is Sandra E. Suárez and I am the second grade bilingual teacher. I am from Colombia and I have lived in this country for several years. I was a lawyer in Colombia until I married an American and moved to the United States. I got my license as a teacher in this country, and I have been blessed because it is a job that I love. Personal contact with children is something that enriches me and makes each day special. This will be my sixth year at Anderson Elementary, which I call my second home.

I firmly believe that education gives us the tools to make our dreams come true.  That has been and will continue to be one of my philosophies of life. Throughout my life, I have acquired good study habits that I convey to my students, but these aspirations require a team effort between parents and teachers. Together we will help the children to succeed.

Hola padres/tutores.
