Reading with your child each day and using some simple strategies will help your child’s literacy develop. You can make a powerful impact on your child’s learning.

1. Invite your child to read with you every day.
2. Point to the words as you read them when the print is large. This shows your child how to track the words from the left to the right and see the word they are hearing/saying.
3. Read your child’s favorite book over and over again.
4. Read stories with rhyming words and lines that repeat. Invite your child to read with you on these parts.
5. Discuss new words.
6. Stop and ask about the pictures and what is happening in the story.
7. Read from a variety of books, fairy tales, song books, poems, and information books.

Lea con los ninos, porque tiene un efecto positivo!

Leer con sus ninos contribuye al exito de la alfabetizacion. Si pone a practica estas estrategias sencillas puede tener un impacto en el aprendizaje de su nino.

1. Invite a su nino que lea con usted cada dia.
2. Cuando used lee un librao, senale con el dedo a cada una de las palabras, a medida que va leyendo. El nino aprende que se lee desde la izquirda hacia la derecha y a comprender que la palabra que esta leyendo es la misma palabra que ve.
3. Lea el libro preferido de su nino una y otra vez.
4. Lea muchas historias con palabras que riman y lineas que se repiten. Invite a su nino que diga las palabras que riman cuando lo ve en el pasaje.
5. Comente las nuevas palabras.
6. Pare y haga preguntas sobre los dibujos y lo que esta sucediendo en la historia.
7. Lea de diversos tipos de libros infantiles, como cuentos de hadas, cancioneros, poesias, y libros informativos.
