Carl Wunsche Sr. High School

  • S2S

Carl Wunsche Sr. High School is teaming up with TxDOT + SAFE 2 SAVE.  SAFE 2 SAVE - sponsored by Memorial Hermann Life Flight, is an app which rewards people for not being on their phones while they drive. TxDOT will be giving away prize monies in support of High School Project Celebrations to schools competing!

How does it work?  For every one minute you drive over 10 miles an hour, you will accumulate 2 points! Just for participating - you are a winner! ….as these points can be redeemed at businesses like Chick-fil-A and La Madeleine. Who wouldn’t want free Chick-fil-A just for driving safe?

The TxDOT Project Celebration safe driving competition will be conducted from March 11th - April 7th.. We will be competing against many high schools across the Greater Houston area!

The high school with the most student participation will receive $1,500 for their Project Celebration!

2nd and 3rd place schools will receive $1,200 and $1,000, respectively. Schools who place in 4th - 20th will receive $700 in grant monies!

Here are the simple steps on how to participate:

Step 1: Download the SAFE 2 SAVE App (It's Free!) and use the Code TXDOT for 500 FREE points.

Step 2: Click on the Trophy Icon on the bottom right hand corner.

Step 3: Click Join a Competition.

  • CTE Spring Independent School District is moving Career and Technical Education into the new millennium with the opportunities provided at Carl Wunsche Sr. High School, a Career Academy in Spring ISD. Students choosing to attend the Academy will have opportunities to enhance academic and career success through participation in workplace learning activities, internships, mentorships, and/or cooperative learning programs. Students will also be able to earn college articulated credit, therefore getting a head start on their post-secondary education. We are breaking the mold here at the Academy, and we invite you to have a look.
