School Transfers
Online Transfer Application Form
Transfer students are defined as students attending a school for which they are not zoned. The following types of transfers are available:
- Intra-district
- Inter-district
- Special Program
Detailed information on each transfer type and respective eligibility requirements is provided below.
Please Note:
- Transfers will not be approved that adversely affect the sending or receiving school.
- Transfers are processed on a first-come first-serve basis.
- Students attending the district’s schools of choice (Roberson Middle School, Carl Wunsche Sr. High School, Spring Early College Academy and Spring Leadership Academy) are NOT considered transfer students since these schools do not have attendance boundaries. Each of these schools has a student application process that is available on the school website.
- Transportation is NOT provided to transfer students.
- A transfer application MUST be submitted EACH YEAR that a student is attending a campus as a transfer student.
- Eligibility for a school transfer is a privilege and may be revoked at any time due to:
- Excessive absences
- Excessive tardies
- Repeated failure to pick up the student from school on time
- Violations of the Student Code of Conduct
- Student is no longer receiving child care from the provider that qualified them for a school transfer
- UIL transfers will not be approved for athletic purposes. All UIL rules apply. Athletes transferring will be ineligible to participate in all varsity athletic sports at the school to which they transfer for all varsity athletics for at least one calendar year at the school they now attend. All transfers involving athletes and students in UIL programs will be reviewed and approved by the Director of Athletics, the Director of Performing and Visual Arts, and the Chief of School Leadership and Student Support Services.

Intra-district Transfer
Students who reside in the district MAY be eligible for a transfer to a campus where they are not zoned for one of the following transfer types:
- Child of an Employee Transfer
- Grandfather Clause Transfer
- Child Care Provider Transfer
- Extenuating Circumstances Transfer (Only applies to students in unique pathways at Dekaney, Spring and Westfield High Schools)
- PEG Transfer
Inter-district Transfer
Students who reside outside the district MAY be eligible for a transfer to attend a Spring ISD school for one of the following reasons:
- Child of an Employee Transfer
- Grandparent Caregiver Transfer
- District of Choice Transfer
- PEG Transfer
Special Program Transfer
Students with special needs and/or academic interests not currently served at their zoned campus MAY be eligible for a transfer for one of the following transfer types:
- Special Education Transfer
- Bilingual Transfer
