This year, a Voter Approval Tax Rate Election (VATRE) is on the ballot — not a bond.🗳️🤔 So, what exactly is a VATRE? It allows voters to decide if their local school district should receive additional funding by adjusting the maintenance and operations property tax rate.
How will the VATRE funds be used? The funds will primarily go toward increasing teacher and staff salaries and addressing the district’s $12 million budget deficit. To learn more, visit https://www.springisd.org/page/vatre
